This Milwaukee elopement was far from my typical wedding! Emina & Ugur originally had a different photographer, but the photographer’s baby was due at any moment so obviously they needed a backup plan! Luckily, Emina found me a couple days before their wedding, and I was so pleased to be able to squeeze in one last wedding for 2016! We met up to discuss all the details & “break the ice” the day before the wedding, and I was beyond thrilled when they ended up booking me! Safe to say I’ve never booked such a last minute wedding before but I’m not one to complain! 😉 About 20 hours after our meeting it was Monday morning – wedding time! We started off the morning by quickly getting ready at their apartment, and then they shared a precious First Look down in a little courtyard. After some snappy portraits, we headed to the Milwaukee County Courthouse to tie the knot! What was so cool was that Ugur was able to stream “live” through Facebook to friends & family – I thought it was such a great idea since I believe they have many loved ones back in Bosnia & Turkey! At the courthouse, Emina & Ugur gathered with their parents & a close friend in a quiet back office to commit their lives to each other. You could tell it was a good match by the way Ugur kept glancing at Emina throughout the ceremony and when Emina could barely get through her vows because of her happy tears. Following the ceremony, I got to take some of the most endearing family portraits I’ve ever taken! I loved watching them interact with each other & I could hardly narrow down my choices for the family portraits (or any of their other portraits really! haha!). Once we were finished with the courthouse we took the limo (with one cute puppy in tow!) to Atwater Beach for some of my favorite portraits from their day! I absolutely loved the ones with the sun highlighting them – Emina’s hair was perfect! Finally, I wrapped up my time with them with a few more shots at the Firefly and left the happy couple to share a celebratory dinner with their parents. … Who says all Monday’s are bad? 😉
